Everton have a great chance to sign Omar Benjamin, who was sacked by Arsenal and makes sense for all parties.

The Wales youth international confirmed his departure from the Gunners on Instagram (20 May), which could indicate a move to Goodison Park.

Already on 13 April, TEAMtalk reported that The Toffees want to sign the versatile striker in the summer.

Now that his departure from North London has been confirmed, he could move to Everton in the coming weeks.

This could prove to be a positive summer move for both Everton and Benjamin.

Omari Benjamin Everton’s move makes sense

The Toffees have had well-documented problems with their finances, partly as a result of the construction of the new stadium.
While this is true, poor spending in the transfer market has certainly contributed to the problems and points deductions they have faced.

This summer’s £25.75 million signing of Beto [Sky Sports] also proved to be a poor use of funds.

Looking ahead to this summer, The Toffees are already flirting with being smarter with a free transfer for 18-year-old Benjamin.

He has already spent a trial period at Goodison Park [Liverpool Echo] and scored the winning goal for the U21 team against Tottenham Hotspur.

Realistically, with Arsenal on the up, Benjamin will always find it difficult to get a role at this club.

If Benjamin were to move to the Toffees, he could quickly get a chance to play in the first team, especially given that Jack Harrison has left.

Benjamin on a free transfer could prove to be a turning point for the Everton hierarchy, who are pushing for smart summer signings.
