Crystal Palace is set to sell either Eberechi Eze or Michael Olise, or possibly both, for a significant amount of money as Newcastle United plots a triple raid on the club.
According to former Scotland defender Alan Hutton, both players are ready to take their careers to the next level, but Palace will demand astronomical fees for their talented duo.
Eze, 25, and Olise, 22, have been heavily linked with moves away from Selhurst Park this summer, with Newcastle United retaining an active interest in signing them.
Eze featured 31 times in attacking midfield last season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists, while Olise recorded ten goals and six assists in 19 games from the right wing, despite struggling with injury issues.
Their impressive performances have generated high levels of interest from top clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
However, Hutton believes that both players will likely leave Palace for huge money, given their talents and potential for growth.
Hutton praised the duo, saying, “They’re exciting, they get bums off seats, they want to take players on, they can assist, they score goals, they’re very intelligent, and they can play in a number of positions.” He added, “They’re going to go for huge money.
They’re outstanding talents at a very good age, and they’re only going to get better. When you put them around players that are at a higher level, talking about world-class players, they’re going to take their game to the next level.”
Palace will likely demand significant fees for the duo, given their importance to the team and their potential for future growth. The South London club will want to secure astronomical fees to justify selling their star players, who have been instrumental in their success under Oliver Glasner.
