Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to engage in a transfer battle for Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze, according to sources close to the situation.
Eze, 25, has impressed this season, earning an England call-up for the European Championships, and both clubs are keen to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham have long been admirers of Eze, but Manchester United have now entered the race, with the player high on their list of targets. The Red Devils’ new recruitment team, led by INEOS, believe Eze fits the profile they are looking for in a midfielder.
Despite struggling with injuries, Eze managed 31 appearances for Crystal Palace this season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists. He signed a new four-year deal at the club in November 2023 and has become a key player for the Eagles.
With both Manchester United and Tottenham set to play in the Europa League next season, they will be eager to strengthen their squads, and Eze is seen as a valuable addition.
The summer transfer window opens on June 14, and it is expected to be a busy few weeks as the two clubs negotiate with Crystal Palace for the midfielder’s signature.
