BREAKING NEWS : Everton Pursues ‘Dynamic’ Dutch Defender Amid £21m Summer Transfer Speculation

The transfer wheels are very much in motion at Goodison Park as Everton begin their summer business.

Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam was confirmed as the Toffees’ first signing on Saturday, signing a three-year, £9m deal.

Elsewhere, Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh is also said to be of interest after the 19-year-old impressed while on loan at Feyenoord last year.

In terms of exits, reports suggest the Magpies are closing in on a deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and that Lewis Dobbin is closing in on a move to Aston Villa.

Despite potential departures, Everton are now being linked with an exciting prospect from Turkey.

Everton eye move for Jayden Oosterwolde

According to Caught Offside, a publication that works closely with Fabrizio Romano, the Toffees are battling West Ham United and Napoli for Fenerbahçe defender Jayden Oosterwolde.

West Ham have reportedly already held talks with the player’s representatives.

However, the report also suggested that the Toffees would not rush into a move as a result.

Another major piece of information suggests that a £21m bid could “severely” test Fenerbahce’s position on their impressive defender.

Jayden Oosterwolde exciting rumor for Evertons

According to Ben Mattinson, a former scout and analyst for clubs in Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Italy and England, the 23-year-old has “electric” pace and can operate at central defense and left-back.

Furthermore, Mattinson suggests that the Dutchman is also present in the air and could be in the same mold as Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven.

Another central defensive option is certainly not a bad idea for Sean Dyche heading into the new season.

Other than Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski, the Toffees’ options are not particularly rich.

The arrival of another young player who can develop and provide cover could be an option when transfer activity picks up.
