Brenden Aaronson will become the only Leeds United loanee to return for the Championship club next season.

Former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who is very much linked with his former club, revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that he has heard that Aaronson will be the only loanee that Daniel Farke will try to integrate back into his squad at Elland Road .

The American international was one of a number of players to leave the West Yorkshire club on temporary deals following their relegation to the Championship last year.

The 23-year-old joined German side Union Berlin on loan last summer, starting 15 of his 38 matches and registering just four goals.

It has now been revealed that Aaronson will return to Leeds next season after having a positive chat with Farke about the upcoming campaign.

Robinson believes the attacking midfielder can “do the job” for Leeds in the Championship as they once again push for promotion to the Premier League.

“From what I’ve heard, only Brenden Aaronson is coming back from the loan players,” he told Football Insider.

“I think the coach is very keen to integrate him back into the team and into the team next season. He had a good loan.

“But for all the other loan players, Leeds will have to cut costs accordingly, move those players on and get the best price possible.

“Aaronson is the one who will be back and the manager is very keen to use him and get him into the Championship team next season.

“I think he will be fine in the championship.

“He’s a bit like a wasp in a bottle at times, but Daniel Farke’s way of playing has managed to structure him and tie him into position.

“I think he was too easy in the Premier League but he could do the job in the Championship for Leeds.”
