Leeds United plan to continue contract negotiations with Willy Gnont this summer as Crystal Palace eye the Italian as a replacement for Michael Olise.
Leeds will be coming to terms with losing stars this summer after failing to secure promotion in the 23/24 campaign, including key forwards.
Crysencio Summerville has been the best player in the Championship and his exit is all but certain, but others, including his close friend Willy Gnont, could join.
HITC claim Crystal Palace are keeping a close eye on Gnont’s position at Leeds after the Whites missed out on a return to the top flight last month.
The Eagles finished the season in incredible fashion under Oliver Glasner, but star Michael Olise is set to leave for Bayern Munich in a huge £60million deal.
The Italian is seen as a long-term replacement for the Frenchman and could be set for a move in the coming weeks of the transfer window.
The report also points out that Leeds have responded to this ongoing speculation with plans to resume contract talks with Gnont this summer.
The 20-year-old revived his career at Leeds in 2024 with stunning form in front of the gates following a controversial transfer saga last August, and in the meantime it emerged the club were quietly confident of signing him to a new deal.
It’s been months since the January update on Gnont, but with Summerville set to leave, the club could see Gnont as a natural replacement on the left.
The 49ers could make the best deal of the summer with a new contract for Gnont
If Leeds somehow manage to keep hold of Gnonta, they already have a replacement there for Summerville.
In terms of results, Gnonto could match what the Dutchman managed last season and that would be incredible for us.
However, his talent is there for all to see, so it is very difficult to see how he could be persuaded to stay another year in the EFL.
