Brighton and Hove Albion are looking to strengthen their squad this summer with new manager Fabian Hurzeler. The Seagulls, who finished 11th in the Premier League last season, have been linked with a number of high-profile players but are yet to make a major move in the transfer market.
A new midfielder remains a priority for Albion – especially as doubts remain over the future of Pascal Gross – while Adam Lallana and Steven Alzate have both confirmed their departures this summer.
Here are six incoming and outgoing deals that could be made next week as Tony Bloom’s transfer plans continue…
Jakub Moder: The Polish midfielder is set to undergo the first part of his medical at Leicester. It was hoped the deal would be a swap between Dewsbury-Hall and Brighton, but Chelsea appear to have rejected that.
Deniz Undav: Stuttgart are said to have triggered an option to buy for around £17m. Stuttgart and Undav have agreed personal terms and Undav has made it clear that he wants to leave. However, Brighton can exercise the buyout option and will then negotiate with Stuttgart and possibly other clubs.
Pascal Gross: The German international continues to consider a new contract with Brighton. Hurzeler wants the player of the year to stay, but Bundesliga clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and Dortmund are ready to jump in.
Carl Rushworth: The goalkeeper impressed on loan at Swansea last season and now looks ready for the Premier League. Bart Verbruggen looks set to become Brighton’s No.1, while newly promoted Ipswich are said to be keen on a loan or permanent move for Rushworth. Big decision for Brighton and Rushworth.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: Brighton appear to have missed out on the Leicester midfielder. Mother was offered as a partial replacement, but was now able to continue as a standalone company. Chelsea are favorites to take over Dewsbury-Hall and have submitted an initial bid of £40m.
Marc Leonard: Following his impressive two-year loan spell at Northampton, the Albion ace was in demand. Wrexham, Preston, Portsmouth and Birmingham have all expressed an interest in the midfielder, but FC Copenhagen are the new favourites.
Crysencio Summerville: Brighton are said to be in talks with Leeds United for their talented striker, who scored 19 goals in the Championship last term. Leeds will sell this summer and Brighton may have to come up with £40m to seal the deal. Liverpool are also interested.
