BREAKING NEWS : Leeds United’s young talent reportedly has a release clause in his contract that is set to expire today June 30

The outlet reported on their website on Saturday (June 29) that Bee’s offer will rise to £40m including add-ons, believed to be higher than the clause included in his contract at Elland Road.

Brentford decided to pay more than that clause in order to complete the deal as soon as possible, and also offered the versatile midfielder a contract worth £75,000-a-week.

Gray is expected to undergo a medical by Thomas Frank, which is understood to be completed on Saturday as Brentford look to avoid a late snap, with several other Premier League clubs also interested [].

Does Archie Gray have a release clause in his Leeds United contract?

Interestingly, this release clause in Gray’s current deal with Leeds United has only now come to light after the Whites accepted a bid for the midfielder, and the question is how much was it worth?

If it is less than the £40m including add-ons Brentford are prepared to pay, the Whites have certainly risked losing one of their most valuable assets for a cut price after missing out on promotion back to the Premier League. .

Either way, it doesn’t look like it will come back to bite Daniel Farke’s side this season as Gray may no longer be a Leeds player when it expires and the bees have already blown the clause down the drain.

It’s a blow to the club and its fan base to lose one of its brightest talents so early in the window, but the Whites hope this big sale will help them retain the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Illan Mesiler.

If more big stars leave, the pressure from the fans will start to mount on those at the top of the club.
