Bristol City in Talks to Sign Dinamo Zagreb Striker Sandro Kulenovic

Bristol City is engaged in discussions with Dinamo Zagreb to acquire the services of Croatian striker Sandro Kulenovic, a player who has previously rejected advances from Nottingham Forest on two occasions.

According to Bristol Live, the Championship side is seeking to strengthen its attacking lineup with two new forwards ahead of the upcoming season.

While a deal for the 24-year-old Kulenovic is not imminent, there is optimism that terms can be agreed upon. The towering forward has represented Croatia at all youth levels up to Under-23 and has been on the radar of English clubs for some time.

Kulenovic chose to stay in Croatia in 2023, opting not to join Nottingham Forest despite a agreed-upon fee of £2.5 million. He stated, “If I’m going to leave Dinamo, the team must be at the top level. Nottingham doesn’t mean much to me.” Earlier in his career, he also turned down an offer from Barnsley when they were in the Championship.

A product of the Dinamo Zagreb academy, Kulenovic has also had stints in the Juventus youth ranks and with Legia Warsaw in Poland. He boasts an impressive record in Croatia’s top division, with 37 goals and 14 assists in over 108 appearances.

Bristol City’s interest in Kulenovic comes as they aim to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season. With his experience and goal-scoring prowess, Kulenovic could be a valuable addition to the team. However, his current market value may have decreased due to his limited starts last season and the fact that he has only one year left on his contract at Stadion Maksimir.
