🚨GOOD ONE : What Tottenham said to Archie Gray before he signed from Leeds which really pleased him

Archie Gray is said to be sure of one thing ahead of his move to Tottenham Hotspur from Leeds United.

Spurs have snapped up a real gem in Archie Gray, with the youngster arriving as one of the brightest minds in the EFL after an impressive breakout season at Leeds.

The 18-year-old made 52 appearances in all competitions under Daniel Farke in what was his first full season at first-team level.

Pundits have already expressed concern over Gray’s chances of earning regular playing time at Tottenham, with Jeff Stelling suggesting he would be better off staying at Elland Road.

However, according to The Athletic, Ange Postecoglou’s site has given some assurances about Gray’s playing time.

Gray is satisfied with the guaranteed playing time at Tottenham

Postecoglou has plenty of options in midfield, especially after the arrival of Gray and Lucas Bergvall.

Giovani Lo Celso looks set to leave, but that would still leave the Austrian with James Maddison, Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur.

However, The Athletic claim that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is also expected to leave, so Gray is happy with the amount of game time he was given before his move to Tottenham.

Gray’s versatility will be important for Tottenham

Emerson Royal is another likely to leave the door this summer amid interest from AC Milan.

Gray operated primarily at right-back for Leeds last season and if Royal were to leave, his versatility could lead to more opportunities under Postecoglou.

Spurs will also compete in the Europa League next season and the early stages of the tournament will give Postecoglou a chance to get a closer look at the younger talent.

Still, Gray could be very much ready to step up to Premier League football and it will be exciting to see how he adapts.

His performance against Chelsea in the FA Cup in February certainly suggests that is the case as he was awarded Player of the Year at Stamford Bridge.
