📢REPORT : Manchester City Targets Everton’s Rising Star Amid transfer Uncertainty

In a recent report, The Sun stated that Manchester City have set their sights on Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite this summer. It has been claimed that the Mancunian giants are set to go head-to-head with Manchester United in the race to sign the England centre-back this off-season.

Branthwaite’s impressive form last season at Goodison Park
Branthwaite has enjoyed a solid campaign at the Merseyside club after putting in a string of impressive displays at the heart of their back line. The 22-year-old scored three goals in 41 appearances across all competitions for the Toffees last season.

The Carlisle-born talent has been a decent performer when defending his midfield, averaging 1.9 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 4.5 clearances per game in the Premier League. He was even accurate in distributing the ball from the back based on his 80.1% completion rate in the English Premier League (stats via whoscored).

His current contract with Everton is set to expire in the summer of 2027, which could open the door for Man City to do a cheap deal for him later this year.

What will Branthwaite add to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s squad?

Branthwaite is a good player of the ball and has a good sense of danger to give the ball back to his team. He doesn’t mind clearing danger when needed and is dominant in the air.

The English sensation is adept at playing from behind. He already has a wealth of experience in Premier League football and won’t take long to adapt to life at the Etihad Stadium if Man City can find a way to sign him this summer.

Branthwaite can be expected to add more strength to Man City boss Pep Guardiola’s squad. He could even help the Mancunian club challenge for a number of major trophies in the coming seasons.

At 22, Branthwaite has his best years ahead of him, making him a good choice for Man City in the summer. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Mancunian club in the future. Therefore, it would be good if Guardiola moved for him soon.
