The former Nottingham Forest manager is now close to returning to management after a spell away.
Forest have had a number of managers over the years with some sustained limited success.
It wasn’t until Steve Cooper joined the club in 2021 that Forest actually started to achieve some success.
He revived the club from top to bottom and secured play-off promotion after taking charge when Forest were bottom of the Championship.
Now the manager who did good things at Forest before Cooper will take over another club.
Sabri Lamouchi will take up a new job
Well, the Frenchman will take another chance after being let go by Cardiff City.
Forest had some really good moments under Lamouchi but could not bring back the glory days at the City Ground.
According to Darren Witcoop at X, Lanoucgh is set to return to Saudi Arabia and take over the management of Al-Riyad.
The boss has experience working in the Middle East and looks set to return to the hot seat.
Lamouchi left Forest with just a 37% win rate and ultimately failed to lead the club back to the big time.
Still, he did a lot of good things at the club and actually brought back the good feeling of watching Forest.
Lamouchi managed Cardiff in 18 games, finishing with a 33% win rate there.
Forest transferred from Lamouchi but he did well
Famous wins over Derby and Leeds were under Lamouchi and his pragmatic style of play eventually won him some fans.
Lamouchi may be better suited to football in Saudi Arabia than the English game and may not get another game in that country.
Still, Lamouchi deserves some respect from Forest fans given what he got out of the limited squad at the club.
Forest have now progressed and are trying to establish themselves as a Premier League club.
However, Lamouchi did a lot of groundwork when it came to promotion and fans will be forever grateful to him for that.
