JUST IN : West Ham United Pursues Euro 2024 Goalscorer, Release Clause Set to Increase – Report

West Ham United are looking to sign FC Porto winger Francisco Conceicao this summer to bolster their attack, according to HITC.

The news agency reported (July 11) that the Portugal international is also a target for Chelsea, Tottenham and Fulham, but is expected to stay with the Dragons.

That’s because clubs have just days to trigger his £25m release clause, which will rise to £38m on Monday (July 15) due to the terms of his contract [Record, July 11].

West Ham sign Francisco Conceicao to bolster attack

Conceicao has burst onto the scene for Porto over the past 12 months, becoming a key member of the team’s attack and earning his Portugal debut during that time.

He also impressed at Euro 2024, featuring in four matches and scoring a late winner in the first group stage match against the Czech Republic, cementing himself as a top option at just 21 years of age.

West Ham are in desperate need of adding attacking firepower to their squad, with the futures of Michail Antonio and Danny Ingo currently up in the air.

Jarrod Bowen currently holds the right-back position, but after a fantastic season as a centre-forward last season, Julen Lopetegui could expect him to lead the line again, opening up a place for Conceicao.

However, Tim Steidten needs to move quickly to seal the deal at the right price and will face plenty of competition for his signature, so it won’t be easy. But there’s a deal to be made and he’d undoubtedly improve the team, so that’s something to keep an eye on.
