Nottingham Forest are close to completing the signing of a big name as they look to continue building ahead of the new season.
The Reds are looking to build on last season and ensure they bring in the right players this summer to ensure there is no battle for survival next season.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is backed by the board once again and after overcoming PSR issues, Forest can now sign players.
Forest have already completed deals for goalkeeper Carlos Miguel and Newcastle winger Elliott Anderson.
However, it seems that more new signings could be on the way and according to Fabrizio Romano, a potential deal is now close to being concluded.
Nottingham Forest close to signing Nikola Milenkovic
According to Romano, who used his X account to share the update, Forest are close to signing the defender for around £12million.
In fact, Romano has indicated that his now famous ‘go ahead’ on transfer deals will be coming very soon.
The “extraordinary” Fiorentina star has been pursued by Premier League sides such as Arsenal and Tottenham in the past.
Milenkovic played for Serbia at the Euros and Forest fans will see him as a coup.
It remains to be seen whether or not Forest will have much more business during this period.
After the points won last season, the club will be afraid of finding themselves in a similar situation again.
Similarly, key players such as Morgan Gibbs-White are still at the club despite interest from others and Forest fans will be hoping they can keep hold of these players.
Meanwhile, Milenkovic will bring steel and quality to Forest’s defense, which proved a bit leaky at times last season.
