🚨REPORT :Player Chooses Crystal Palace Amidst Difficult Circumstances, Acknowledging Fans’ Dissatisfaction

New Crystal Palace signing Daichi Kamada has explained why he made the move this summer, with Lazio fans’ treatment of the team part of the reason.

   Lazio Press and La Lazio Siamo Noi cover the Japanese star’s comments today after he appeared in a video in his homeland explaining his move to Crystal Palace this summer.

   Kamada completed a free transfer to Selhurst Park on July 1, making the surprise decision to end his one-year stay at Lazio and move to England.

   The Japan international only joined Lazio last summer on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt and has had a difficult spell with the Italians, with just two goals and two assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.

   It was a far cry from the player who had previously excelled at Frankfurt with 40 goals and 33 assists in 179 games during his time there.

   He shone during his career with them under current Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, scoring 15 goals and providing 22 assists in 93 games under Glasner in charge of the Bundesliga club.

   And talks with his former manager appear to have proved crucial, as has the chance to avoid a difficult position at Lazio.

   “When I came to Lazio, I felt that everyone expected a lot from me,” he said.

   “I came to a team where the best midfielder in Serie A, Milinković-Savić, was playing. And I had to take his place. So everyone expected a lot from me in matches, but also in training. I felt that my normal performance was not  was enough.

   “Every time we lost we heard all the whistles and they told me that doesn’t happen here in the Premier League. If you lose, they support you.

   “I chose Palace because they contacted me already in the winter, considering that when Maurizio Sarri was at Lazio I never played.    While I was thinking about what to do, Oliver Glasner sent me a message saying he wanted to sign me in the summer.

   “At the end I wasn’t sure if I should stay at Lazio or go to Crystal Palace. I keep repeating that my dream was to play in the Premier League one day.

   “I spoke a lot with Oliver Glasner and I think he is a great manager and he wanted me at all costs, even when I thought I would stay at Lazio. And in the end he prevailed. I have been following Palace since Glasner has been there, I have seen everything  games.”
