Leeds United fans were shocked by Charlie Crew after scoring in a behind closed doors friendly.
While the Leeds Under-21s took on Rangers B in a friendly, the first team also played a game in which the Crew hit the net.
His involvement with the first team ahead of the youth team hinted at further involvement this season and it was suggested he would follow in Archie Gray’s footsteps.
Gray played 52 times under Daniel Farke last season and became a mainstay of the side despite his youth, and Crew are expected to be the next to make his mark.
The midfielder is only 18 years old and has yet to make his first senior appearance, but fans believe his first team debut is not far away.
Leeds United fans have been stunned by the development of Charlie Crews
Leeds announced that Crew signed a new four-year deal at Elland Road on July 12 ahead of the season, which will be important to his development.
Fans took to social media following his goal, insisting that he will be included in the first team next season under Farke.
Some even said it will be “like a new signing”.
Supporters will now be watching the club’s first pre-season game against Harrogate Town on July 19 in the hope that the Crew can replicate his performance.
