Whites boss Daniel Farke wants to make no mistakes in the Championship next season and wants to have enough strength to climb out of the division.
So far, he has strengthened the defense, with Jayden Bogle and Joe Rodon, and the midfield with Joe Rothwell.
Now Farke is interested in Blackburn Rovers striker Sammie Szmodics, who scored for Rovers at Elland Road last season.
Â
Szmodics scored an astonishing 33 goals in all competitions last season and finished as the Championship’s top scorer.
Premier League Ipswich Town are currently trying to sign Szmodics.
However, Leeds have “now formalised” their interest in the player as they look to win the race.
Blackburn are already looking for a replacement for Szmodics, 28, and will sell for the right price.
Â
However, Leeds will need to convince Szmodics that he should step up to the Premier League in order to move to Elland Road.
🚨Leeds United has officially expressed their interest in signing a highly sought-after forward who has scored an impressive 33 goals in the previous season
