Crystal Palace are still on the lookout for a striker in the summer transfer window who could bolster their attacking numbers.
With Michael Olise leaving for Bayern Munich for £50.8m, the Eagles are light on forward numbers who can replicate his work.
A number of options have emerged in recent weeks, with Antonio Nusa and Jobe Bellingham among those touted as possible signings.
Recent reports even suggest that Crystal Palace have agreed personal terms with Marseille winger Ismaila Sarr over a move to Selhurst Park.
But until an agreement is reached on that deal, rumors continue to swirl about the next striker to join the club.
Crystal Palace target Maghnes Akliouche is set to sign a new contract
One winger linked with a move to Crystal Palace is AS Monca star Maghnes Akliouche, who has impressed since becoming a regular at the French club.
The 22-year-old could be an option to replace Olise, given that he is a left-footed right-back who can also play as an attacking midfielder.
However, Akliouche looks set to stay at his current club as Fabrizio Romano reports that the striker is preparing to sign a new contract with Monaco.
With a deal that runs until 2028, that would make any surprise offer this summer unlikely, ruling out the possibility of a switch.
This means that Crystal Palace simply have to look at other options in the current transfer market that can improve the squad.
Next transfer Crystal Palace
With Akliouche gone, attention will turn to who will be the next big signing for Crystal Palace.
Sarr appears to be the frontrunner as the former Watford star has agreed personal terms but is awaiting an agreed offer between the two clubs to confirm the move.
Failing that, there may be other options for Dougie Freedman to explore.
Some of that could be attributed to the pitch around Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who has attracted transfer interest from Southampton.
