🚨JUST IN :Jack Harrison Addresses Leeds United Fans’ “Traitor” Claims Following Second Everton Loan

Jack Harrison understands the frustration shown by Leeds United fans after the winger joined Everton on loan for the second successive campaign.

   The winger was a regular for Leeds for several seasons after joining on loan from Manchester City under Marcelo Bielsa before finally making the move to Elland Road and continuing to be a mainstay in the side as the Whites regained the Premier League title.    League status over a period of three years.

   But amid a mass exodus of loan departures following the club’s relegation to the Championship, Harrison soon followed suit and moved to Goodison Park on a temporary basis last season, which proved more than smart as far as everyone connected with Everton was concerned.

   And in the off-season, the 27-year-old completed another loan move to Merseyside for the upcoming top-flight campaign as his parent club continue their preparations ahead of the opening game of the season against Portsmouth on August 10, three months after losing to Southampton in the play-off final at Wembley  .

   Harrison could provide United fans with some memorable moments following their promotion to the Premier League as early as 2020 after making 87 appearances for the club in the second division.

   This included their first top-flight goal since 2004 in a remarkable 4-3 defeat to then-champions Liverpool at Anfield – despite the game being played behind closed doors – and a stoppage-time winner in a 2-1 win over Brentford at  the final day of the following season as the Whites secured safety under Jesse Marsch.

   Despite starting 34 times and playing in a total of 36 games the following season, Leeds’ dismal 22/23 campaign was summed up by a 4-1 defeat to Tottenham at Elland Road, the last time Harrison scored and played  for the club, as he left permanently on loan last summer along with many other high-profile names.

   Supporters’ disillusionment was rife last summer against the backdrop of LS11 chaos, with players such as the former England youth international also suffering, something the wide man revealed he fully understands.

   “It was a special place for me, but I also understand the fans’ side, how they see me as a traitor and whatever,” Harrison told The Athletic.

   “I understand they have a lot of fans and are very passionate.

   “When I decided to go on loan there were a lot of comments that made me feel a certain way about Leeds. But stepping back, I was very grateful for what they gave me,” he added.

   Harrison’s first loan spell at Everton was a particularly successful one, meaning it’s no real surprise that the club looked set to seek his signature again after the 2023/24 season.

   Despite initially signing while nursing an injury, the former NYCFC man showcased his skills directly to the Goodison crowd.   It was a spectacular goal on his full debut with a 25-yard lob against AFC Bournemouth, and he also registered an assist in the same game.

   Assists for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Vitali Mykolenko followed in away wins at West Ham and Crystal Palace, before they also scored in Premier League defeats to Man City and Tottenham and scored against Luton Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

   Such form in just 29 starts in all competitions for Dyche’s men has certainly given Harrison a platform to build on in the new season, especially with a full pre-season under his belt, as he lacked such luxury and consistency this time last year.

   Leeds United must eventually cash in on Jack Harrison

   If Harrison is to have another successful season for the Blues, it is imperative that Leeds cash in on his services as soon as possible.

   The winger will have three more years left on his contract at Elland Road in 2025, having signed a new five-year deal in April 2023.

   A £20m release clause was inserted into the aforementioned contract, which Everton chose not to meet despite signing his services on another temporary basis, although according to a recent report from GiveMeSport they could try  renegotiate the terms of that second deal and potentially free up loan space in their 25-man squad amid links to Armando Broja and Leeds academy graduate Kalvin Phillips.

   Such comments from Harrison also suggest that his long-term future is far away from Leeds, so a quick solution in the coming months, regardless of whether it is a possible permanent deal with Everton, is the best move for all parties.
