Nottingham Forest’s pre-season tour of Spain now draws to a close with Friday night’s game marking the end of their time in the sun.

   It has been a successful spell so far, with Forest winning one and drawing one of their two games against Championship opposition.

   Nuno Espirito Santo must be pleased with what he has seen from the Reds this summer both on and off the pitch.

   The Portuguese coach was supported in the market by Evangelos Marinakis with five players who have already signed a contract.

   Forest remain unbeaten on the pitch after beating Chesterfield in a friendly ahead of their trip to Spain.

   And it looks like what Nuno has been doing on the training pitch could very well pay off when the Reds turn up in their friendlies.

   What Anthony Elanga had to say about pre-season training

   Forest have now been in Spain for just over a week and their draw against Sunderland marks their first friendly on the continent.

   Forest came away with a win against Millwall on Tuesday but were pulled out of the game as Elliot Anderson struggled with an injury.

   The final game awaits Forest on Friday night against La Liga 2 side Elche

   But the trip to Spain proved well worth the trip as Anthony Elanga shares details of what has been done to prepare the Reds for the new season.

   Speaking to Sky Sports from Spain, the Sweden international revealed how hard Nuno worked with the players in the 40C heat.

   “Even in this heat we did double training – I think it’s really good to be able to train in this heat,” said Elanga.

   “Because when you get back to England it won’t be so hot. It’s challenging but it will be worth it in the end.

   “An area like this brings us together even more. We can bond more and I think that will help us on the court.”

   Anthony Elanga is ready to continue repaying Forest’s trust

   Elanga has now played a full season at the City Ground after moving from Manchester United last summer.

   The 22-year-old made an impressive return for Forest in the Premier League alone with five goals and nine assists.

   And that has prompted Newcastle United to show genuine interest in signing Elanga this summer.

   But the winger has given no indication that he sees his future elsewhere, saying he is ready to go to Forest again this season.

   “It’s a decision I wanted deep down [to join Forest] because I felt I needed to take on this challenge and play more regularly,” he added.

   “I’m grateful that Forest were able to give me a chance and I hope I could repay them last season and I wish I could repay them this season.”
