Everton entered the transfer window this summer with four new faces. Sean Dyche must be happy with the arrangements already in place at Goodison Park after recently adding centre-back Jake O’Brien to his squad.
However, Everton have a lot to improve on from last season with a strong finish to the season that may mask a truly struggling campaign for the Blues. However, the Toffees looked set to start the season in the front row this summer with four new signings still weeks away.
Ahead of the final month of the window, Sky Sports man Alan Myers has just shared an insight into what could be in store for Everton in the market. What Everton could do in the transfer window after signing Jake O’Brien It’s been a mixed bag for the Blues so far, with both on and off the pitch disappointing. The Toffees have not won any of their three friendlies after drawing with Sligo Rovers and losing to Salford City and Coventry City. Perhaps worst of all, The Friedkin Group’s proposed takeover of the club also fell through.
However, the only cause for optimism was how Everton performed in the transfer market with some smart additions brought to the club. Taking to social media, Myers suggested that there could be new signings on their way to Merseyside in the coming weeks. Asked if further signings would depend on players now leaving Goodison, Myers said: “I think there will be some of that, but I wouldn’t rule out more new faces”.
A truly promising insight for Everton fans after the club’s impressive start to the market this summer. Who can Everton sign next summer? More goals need to be added to this Everton team before the start of the new season, as the Blues had the second worst goal-scoring record last season. So far, Everton have strengthened their front line, or solved their problems once and for all, we’ll see.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could also leave Everton this summer as his contract situation remains unresolved. If that were the case, Everton would certainly need some extra firepower.
