Everton’s Pursuit of Jackson Tchatchoua: A Transfer Saga Unfolding

The rumors surrounding Everton’s interest in Hellas Verona’s right-back, Jackson Tchatchoua, have seemingly quieted down, but the Toffees’ offer remains on the table. According to Saturday’s edition of Corriere di Verona, Everton was the first club to make a move for the 22-year-old, offering an initial €8m payment plus a potential €2m in bonuses.

However, Hellas Verona held out for a higher price tag of €10m plus bonuses, likely expecting Everton to increase their offer. But the Premier League club has stood firm, leaving the initial offer unchanged.

Following Everton’s approach, Lyon and Rennes expressed interest in Tchatchoua, giving Hellas Verona hope of sparking a bidding war. Yet, neither club has progressed beyond the initial contact stage, leaving Everton’s offer as the most concrete proposal.

Corriere di Verona reports that Hellas Verona will only part with Tchatchoua for an “adequate” offer, but as the transfer window wears on, their negotiating position may weaken. If no other club surpasses Everton’s offer, their chances of securing the player increase.

A slight increase of €1m could potentially seal the deal, but for now, the situation remains stagnant. The Toffees’ persistence and strategic approach may ultimately pay off, but only time will tell if they can secure the signature of the talented young right-back.
