📢BREAKING NEWS :Alan Myers baffled by Everton scenes – ‘I’ve not seen that at Goodison before’

Alan Myers was left bewildered by the mass exodus at Goodison Park as Everton lost 3-0 to Brighton.

The Toffees suffered a disappointing opening defeat as the away side capitalized on Ashley Young’s red card to win comfortably.

As the game drew to a close, many Toffees fans headed for the exits, leaving Goodison half-empty at full-time.

Sky Sports news editor Myers took to the X on August 17 to share his surprise at seeing the stadium so empty.

He said: “I can honestly say I haven’t seen it at Goodison before and you can’t blame them, but the fact that those fans will be there again at the start of the next game is hugely important and impressive IMO.”

The Toffees will be disappointed to suffer such a heavy opening defeat after carrying some positives in pre-season.

Despite only winning one friendly in the summer, the transfer window has given them reason to be excited about the new campaign.

That optimism was dashed by full-time at Goodison, when the Seagulls took a 3-0 lead that hit the home side.

The result wasn’t what any fan would have liked to see, but the turnout was certainly a surprise considering it was only the first day of the season.

Some sections of the fan base have even called for Dyche to lose his job, but these demands are far too early.

It was a bizarre decision by the manager to bring on Mason Holgate when he was already 2-0 down, but it was a decision he wanted to make.

There is still a long way to go and given how fickle football fans are, Goodison will probably be back for the Bournemouth game.
