Nottingham Forest are looking to strengthen their attacking ranks before the end of the transfer window at the end of the month.
Santiago Gimenez is first choice for Forest, according to Graeme Bailey, while Eddie Nketiah is also on the club’s wish list.
The talisman is likely to complete the club’s puzzle, although Alex Crook has claimed Forest as Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Now a surprise link has emerged which could see Forest once again try to land the versatile striker.
Nottingham Forest want Arnaut Danjuma
According to reports, the Reds are one of the clubs keen to sign the Villarreal striker before the transfer deadline.
Danjuma has experience playing in England for Bournemouth, Tottenham and Everton – with some success.
At Bournemouth, he scored 17 goals in 52 games, and also registered eight assists for the Cherries.
His loan spell at Tottenham was less successful with just two goals in 12 games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He played for Everton last season and again scored a few goals, but this time in 20 games at Goodison Park.
Danjuma scored his 23rd goal for Villarreal in a 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid on Monday night.
But now it seems that clubs want to sign him, with Lille and Forest interested in the striker.
Danjuma can be useful, but not as a main striker
It would be very bad for Forest to land Danjuma this summer after being linked with Gimenez and Nketiah.
But if Forest were to keep an eye on him being versatile and an option for flanking positions, Jota Silva might be able to go on loan.
At just 27, the player is at a good age for a Forest forward looking to add more energy and athleticism to their ranks.
Forest could add Danjuma on a £50,000-a-week loan closer to the end of the period to compliment a new star striker, but that shouldn’t come at the expense of that.
The Reds could do with an excellent player at the top of the pitch, but the fit Danjuma should go at the back – at least for now.
