With Largie Ramazani officially confirmed today, all eyes will be on who Leeds United plan to bring in next.
Ramazani is expected to end Leeds’ months-long wait for a new signing, but it must simply be the start of a major recruitment drive between now and August 30.
The 23-year-old is expected to be one of two strikers Leeds add to their squad over the next eight days, with Georginio Rutter next on the agenda.
Full-back and central midfield are also interesting positions for Daniel Farke, who made this clear after Leeds’ second pre-season game.
With that said, Ramazani is definitely a step in the right direction and the fact that Leeds are paying £10m to sign him proves that the money is worth spending.
Leeds take a look at Spurs’ Manor Solomon
Stuart Dallas floated the theory on Sky Sports last weekend that Leeds were waiting for Premier League clubs to finalize their squads before making a really late entry into the market.
Leeds have struggled to complete moves for top loan players this summer due to an inability to secure game time, although this is more difficult when they are younger.
And according to Sport5, Leeds are eyeing the Premier League loan market for their next signing with Tottenham Hotspur’s Manor Solomon.
Spurs are said to have already made a decision to loan Solomon out in the coming days after he spent almost all of last season injury-free.
Solomon has offers from abroad but would prefer to stay in England according to the report, with Leeds described as one of the contenders to win the race.
The 25-year-old, described as a “pocket rocket” by Jamie Redknapp on Sky Sports due to his explosive pace, mainly plays out wide on the left, so you’d imagine Wilfried Gnonto would have to leave if he came.
Who is Leeds Manor Solomon’s new target?
As mentioned earlier, Solomon would be an unusual type of winger post-Ramazani, but there is no doubt that he would be a real hit at this level.
Solomon has plenty of Champions League experience from his time at Shakhtar Donetsk, a club where he scored 22 goals in 106 appearances.
He then moved on loan to Fulham in 2022/23 and enjoyed a decent spell at Craven Cottage, scoring one of his five goals for the club in a 2-0 FA Cup win against Leeds.
After joining Spurs on a free transfer last summer, his time at the club has been riddled with injuries, so he’s clearly now at the point where he needs to go and play.
