Jayden Bogle was sent off by Andy Hinchcliffe live on Sky Sports as the Leeds United defender was embarrassed by Anthony Musaba for Sheffield Wednesday.

The Sky Sports pundit reacted live on television commentary of the match on August 23 in the sixth minute after the new Whites full-back allowed his opposition player to get behind him.

Bogle then fell off the pitch as the home winger cut back before winning a corner, with Hinchcliffe heavily criticizing the early defensive work.

He said (8.06pm): “That’s really bad from Jayden Bogle. He’s watching the ball. Musaba should never run in behind him.

“There’s no pressure on the ball so the full-back doesn’t get to the ball, doesn’t get away from your man. He’s caught watching the ball, he has no idea where Musaba is, he just gets towards the ball and then gets away. He creates space.

“Bogles defensively all over the place.”

Brenden Aaronson’s opener in the 24th minute calmed the Whites’ nerves after two games without a goal.

The American latched on to a loose ball in the box after Mateo Joseph was brought down and showed good composure to fire over.

Daniel Farke’s side have been under pressure without a win so far this term, amid a battle to replace departing stars, and an early deficit would add significantly to a campaign that was already tipped to be more difficult than last term. [Richard Keys, August 20].

Bogle has shown flashes of obvious quality since joining from Sheffield United, but has also been found to be poor defensively at times.

After a sloppy start, he improved to keep Musa offside as the Whites took a vital one-goal lead into the break after a better performance on Wednesday.

Farke will be desperate to maintain their lead and record their first win of the season and lift spirits following the signing of Largie Ramazani.
