Nottingham Forest fans are demanding the club pull out of signing Eddie Nketiah over the striker’s wage demands.

Reports have claimed the Arsenal man will demand any club match his £120,000-a-week wages if he leaves the Emirates.

That would make him the highest-paid player at the City Ground – ahead of the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White – despite his relative lack of experience and playing time.

Football Insider revealed on August 20 that Forest had made a detailed proposal to the striker in a bid to convince him to decide on a move before the transfer deadline.

Sources say talks are progressing with Arsenal after an initial bid of £25m was rejected, with the Gunners holding out for at least £30m.

But fans are now calling on the club to walk away from talks after learning of his demands.

Nottingham Forest asked to withdraw from Eddie Nketiah’s contract

Forest targeted a new striker in the summer window amid questions over Chris Wood’s consistency and Taiwo Awoniyi’s availability.

Nketiah has emerged as an early contender as the club want a home-grown core, with the Gunners man set to spearhead a front line including Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White.

But fans took to social media to react to the news, with the Arsenal striker branded “greedy” and “lazy” amid questions about his attitude.
