Newcastle United fans have been left furious by the latest Man United transfer news given the low price of Donny van de Beek’s departure.
Reports claim that United would receive less than £845,000 up front, with add-ons that could reach £4.2m, for the player they are spending £35m on.
It comes after the Magpies found themselves in danger of breaching profit and sustainability before being forced to cash in on academy products Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh.
Meanwhile, United appears to have lost significant amounts of money on a number of investments without any threat of infringement.
Aside from the deal for Van de Beek, the likes of Jadon Sancho, Antony and Casemiro represent expensive deals that are unlikely to turn a profit.
Newcastle United fans hit out at ‘corrupt’ Man United after latest transfer twist
Despite Newcastle fans’ frustrations, Man United avoided PSR problems thanks to total revenue of £643.8m in the financial year ending 2023 and transfer depreciation.
However, that hasn’t stopped rival fans from questioning their performance, with Man United described as “corrupt” and part of a “cartel”.
