Everton are a club constantly steeped in frustration, anger, distress and turmoil, but their fans can’t get enough of it.
They are one of the most loyal and unyielding fans in the country, standing by their team through the darkest times.
Now, with the ownership situation threatening to unravel itself and Kevin Thelwell putting together a much stronger squad, things are at least looking up.
Sean Dyche has had to steer this ship without a rudder through some of these tough times and so far he has done extremely well.
But now there is a new frustration that again does not help his cause.
Chris Sutton feels really bad for Sean Dyche
In a chat on BBC Radio 5 Live, Chris Sutton was brutal in his assessment of Everton’s fortunes.
In fact, he feared that Dyche had been given a real hard time, and his task is only going to get tougher the longer he stays at Goodison Park.
The latest frustration he has to deal with is Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract situation, which Sutton has now commented on.
He claimed: ‘It’s a nightmare for Sean Dyche. In many ways it seems like Calvert-Lewin and Everton have gone their separate ways, but I wouldn’t be in a rush to get him out if it was Sean Dyche because we know he’s an extremely capable player. ‘

Although his future is still up in the air should he stay beyond this summer, there is always a chance Everton could convince their 27-year-old striker to stay.
This is despite Arsenal joining the race to sign Calvert-Lewin, battling it out with Chelsea and Newcastle United.
Realistically, the £100,000-a-week finisher is a hugely popular figure on Merseyside and has been given a big vindication in some really tough times.
Hopefully he can now reward them with some loyalty.
And should their fortunes change and the Toffees begin to move towards a period of positivity and prosperity, even with a new owner at the helm, there is no reason he couldn’t be persuaded to stay.
What Everton need now more than ever is some stability, starting at the top. It seems that once this is settled, the dominoes may fall into place, resulting in a Calvert-Lewin contract extension, among many other positives.
