Everton made £10m from the sale of Ben Godfrey in the summer transfer window and considering their dire financial situation, that was a good sum since the Englishman’s departure.
Things have not been good for the defender at Atalanta so far and questions are already being raised about his future.
Godfrey has played once in Serie A for La Deo so far, but played on the right side of midfield rather than as a central defender. He remained on the bench for the other two games.
TuttoAtalanta described the signing as a complete “flop” and say that his use on the right side has also not produced good results. Even when there are no major rivals for the central defender position, he still does not play for the club in that position.
