Everton have started the season in the worst possible way and go into the international break without a win in the Premier League.
Although it’s almost acceptable considering they started the last campaign in a similar fashion and still narrowly avoided the drop.
There are still reasons for so much hope, but the fans really lost faith because of the manner of Saturday’s defeat.
2-0, three minutes of normal time remaining, and at the end, thousands of fans stormed out of Goodison Park, stunned at how they had squandered it, losing 3-2.
Of course, Sean Dyche was the main reason to blame.

Having already provided an update on Sean Dyche’s future at Everton, journalist Graeme Bailey spoke exclusively to Everton.News once again to provide an update on what exactly the board feel is the 53-year-old’s biggest downfall .
After all, there has been plenty to see in his almost two-year spell at Goodison Park, largely overlooked for the stability he promises.
Bailey would simply tell us: “I’ve heard the main problem with this Everton team is that they don’t play like Dyche’s team and they’re scoring more than three goals a game so far this season.”
The Toffees have conceded an incredible ten goals in just three Premier League games this season.
Sean Dyche’s Everton substitutes let him down again
Given the position they are in, Dyche is arguably the best manager Everton could wish for.
He has a track record of scoring in the Premier League well above his position on a budget and with a group of players that few around them rate.
Given the ownership situation, along with all the financial turmoil, there are few managers on the planet who would stay at a club during such relentless misery.
And yet, more than anything else, he continues to be let down by his prey.
Most fans can justify the negative tactics they see as a necessary evil to stay in the division.
They can’t justify getting the simplest of decisions wrong at key moments, whether it’s letting certain players on or taking away the most important stars.
On Saturday, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Tim Iroegbunam and Dwight McNeil were dead on their feet. The back line was left very exposed and something had to be changed.
So he removed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Iliman Ndiaye, their only two attacking positions, and replaced them with Abdoulaye Doucoure and Beto, players notorious for their lack of control.
The players were pathetic in the eight-minute collapse, but Dyche’s substitutions really let them down.
