🚨BREAKING NEWS :Nottingham Forest fans explode after ‘unbelievable’ points deduction twist

Nottingham Forest fans are up in arms after Leicester City confirmed they had won their appeal against their allegation of breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

In a statement from Leicester’s official website, the club revealed that an independent appeals panel had upheld their challenge.

But the wording of the statement suggested there was a loophole in the rules – rather than the club being found not guilty.

It said: “In its decision, the Appeal Panel (which was made up of a panel of three experienced, senior lawyers, two of whom are former Court of Appeal judges) found flaws in the drafting of the Premier League rules.

“In challenging the Premier League’s attempt to charge Leicester City, the club has simply ensured (in the interest of ensuring consistency and certainty for all clubs) that the rules are applied based on how they are actually written.”

As a result, the Foxes avoided facing points deductions like Nottingham Forest and Everton did last season.

Forest were relegated with four points after the attack against PSR – a decision that angered Premier League fans at the time.

Now those frustrations have flared up again after Leicester managed to avoid a similar deduction on a technicality.

A statement from the Premier League revealed that Leicester avoided punishment because they spent one season in the Championship after being relegated.

And this despite Forest being punished after serving two of the three years taken into account at the second-level hearing.

Reacting to the latest developments on social media, fans have again slammed the Premier League and PSR, calling it a “complete farce”.
