Newcastle United have confirmed new appointments in their academy following some key departures in the summer.
Ben Dawson has left Newcastle U-21s as head coach to join Leicester City, while Graeme Carrick has left the same position at the Under-18s to join his brother Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough.
Ian Bogie also left his long-standing role as the club’s academy coach earlier this year. The former Newcastle midfielder has been replaced as U16 coach by Jack Brazil.
Much like the first team, it’s a summer of change for Newcastle’s academy. At U21 level, former Sunderland head coach Jack Ross and Neil Winskill took over following Dawson’s departure.
Meanwhile, Carrick has been replaced as under-18 head coach by Chris Moore, who is assisted by former Gateshead member and Middlesbrough boss James Marwood.
Graeme Coulson has become Newcastle Under-15s coach, with Ian Skinner replacing him as Under-14s coach. Former Gateshead goalkeeper James Montgomery has been confirmed as the new goalkeeping coach at the club’s under-13s to under-16s.
Ben Ashcroft has been appointed as the club’s professional development goalkeeping coach.
Former Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt has joined as Newcastle’s academy coach, while the club’s former goalkeeping coach Paul Barron has returned as a mentor to the goalkeeping coach and training coach.
Finally, Newcastle have confirmed the appointment of Moyo Arowolo as the club’s new academy/foundation stage coach. Arowolo joined Newcastle in July after working at Millwall, Fulham and Manchester United’s Foundation.
