Daniel Farke is likely to work out the best way to replace Crysencia Summerville and Georginia Rutter following the sale of the duo to Leeds United, but one player has just explained how he could be crucial.
Since Rutter and Summerville left, Leeds have welcomed Largie Ramazani and Manor Solomon to the club. Both made their Leeds debuts last time out as Farke’s side beat Hull City 2-0 at Elland Road.
Solomon played on the left wing and it looks like the Israeli captain will take up that role next season. It is less clear where Ramazani, who played on the left side at Almeria, will play.
Leeds have Dan James and Wilfried Gnont on the right and Brenden Aaronson in the 10 role. But an injury here or there or exciting role play from Ramazani might just tempt Farke to pick him.
Ramazani tells Adam Pop that he can play in four positions
The Belgian played in La Liga and while Farke wanted to end any comparisons with Summerville, it is hard to see past them. Both pocket speed machines with feel, aggression and tough personality.
However, Ramazani told BBC Radio Leeds that he is also versatile. He can play on either flank, as a striker or behind the striker and even as a false nine. Perfect for Farke as he seems to find the best combination.
“I mean, I can play anywhere. Up front, anywhere. I’m comfortable anywhere. You see, I’m a winger, that’s where I’m most comfortable, but I can also play behind the striker or as a false nine,” Ramazani said.
Why Ramazani could be thrown into the deep end on Saturday
The Belgian could get a chance in this weekend’s Championship promotion clash against Burnley, largely thanks to the international break. Solomon, Aaronson and Gnonto were all in action.
They may return tired for a variety of reasons. Solomon as he played 80-plus minutes in two games, his second and third pro games in a year, while Aaronson only played on Wednesday.
He faced New Zealand in Cincinnati early Wednesday morning and may be rested due to the time delay. Gnonto has played twice for Italy, while Dan James may struggle to regain fitness after a muscle injury.
Ramazani may get a chance in the starting line-up against Scott Parker’s side this weekend. Farke says he wanted to reassure Ramazani and give him time to adjust, but that could change on Saturday.
