Bryan King claims Everton have previously held talks about bringing David Moyes back to Goodison Park.

A former Goodison scout has speculated that the 61-year-old could return to the club in a behind-the-scenes role.

It comes after HITC reporter Graeme Bailey told the Everton News (September 9): “David Moyes’ name has come up. We know it’s available. I know Graham Potter is someone the hierarchy likes, out of work again. Big name manager.

“It doesn’t mean Dyche is on the brink. They just have to do their due diligence to allow a transfer if it’s needed.”

But King – exclusively to Goodison News – is unsure how likely Moyes is to return to the club.

“As far as Moyes is concerned, there has already been talk of him coming back to the club,” King said.

“I would have thought he would be back as director of football or on the board or something.

“But I’m not sure how far it will go.”

Will David Moyes return to Everton?

Many Goodison Park fans will hold Moyes in their hearts after he takes charge of the club.

Due to his long spell with the Toffees, it would be reasonable to assume that he will one day return to Goodison Park in some capacity.

Whether he would be interested in a behind-the-scenes role remains to be seen. But with the Scot out of work and Sean Dyche under pressure, the fairytale meeting could still be in sight.
