REPORT : Leeds United expected to bench multi-million-pound duo for Burnley clash at Elland Road

Daniel Farke should name an unchanged starting XI when Leeds United host Burnley on Saturday (September 14), according to Beren Cross.

Leeds Live reporter [13. September] expects the Whites boss to stick with the same line-up at Elland Road that started in the 2-0 win over Hull City before the international break.

As a result, multi-million pound signings Ao Tanaka and Largie Ramazani would be left out again, having made their episode debut two weeks ago.

Cross explained: “Ao Tanaka and Largie Ramazani will have plans to start for the Whites sooner rather than later, but it is wise to bring them in slowly while their teammates settle into their best positions.”

Leeds United will have some exciting pairings at the start

The general perception of Leeds United is that although they operate with the smallest squad in the Championship, they also probably have the highest quality among a more compact group of players.

The signings of Tanaka and Ramazani came late in the window, along with Manor Solomon – who stepped in to make an immediate impact and will almost certainly start on Saturday – and Isaac Schmidt.

It gives Farke a bit more room to manoeuvre, although Dan James’ four-week absence has been confirmed as a difficult spell has ended on a positive note – largely complemented by Willy Gnont’s new long-term deal.

Ramazani was brought in from Almeria for a fee worth up to £10m, while established Japan international Tanaka was seen in some quarters as a long-term upgrade for Ilia Gruev.

It seems likely that they will have plenty of football, but with the defense appearing to be the easiest area for Leeds’ options, punters will have to wait and see how Farke’s opportunities arise elsewhere on the pitch.
