BREAKING NEWS :Leeds player who made 0 key passes was worse than Solomon

Leeds United ended their unbeaten start to the 2024/25 season with a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Burnley at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday.

   Daniel Farke’s side drew against Portsmouth and West Brom and beat Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City in their first four games of the season.

   That streak was over, however, as Luca Koleosho scored the only goal of the game in the first half, curling a finish into the bottom right corner after Manor Solomon’s slip at the other end.

   The Tottenham Hotspur loanee had an unfortunate moment in goal but was not the worst player on the pitch for Leeds as the rest of his game was promising.

   Solomon lost his footing around the halfway point and allowed Koloesh to race past Illan Meslier, with some weak defending from his teammates.

   However, the winger had plenty of positive moments in the game as he showed some great leadership and ball-turning to make things happen for Leeds in the final third.

   The Spurs loanee created three chances and converted 86% of his chances while completing all three of his attempted drives, showing that he was generally impressive on the ball.

   He also won six of his seven ground tackles and made two tackles to help his side in defence, showing the forward was strong in possession and worked hard for the team.

   Meanwhile, at the other end, Wilfried Gnonto was a real negative for the Whites with his disappointing performance at Elland Road on Saturday.

   The Italy Under-21 international has struggled to make any kind of impact at the top of the pitch and will surely be disappointed not to be a threat in the final third.

   Gnonto had a glorious chance to hit the back of the net in the first half after Brenden Aaronson fed the ball to him, but he couldn’t beat James Trafford with a left-footed shot that hit the keeper.

   The Italian winger had a total of three shots and didn’t score, squandered a “big chance” and also finished the game with zero key passes (chances created) to his name.

   As you can see in the table above, the striker had a difficult afternoon, losing half his tackles and giving the ball away 16 times without making any real contribution in the final third.

   While Solomon, despite a goal slip, created three chances for his teammates and won the vast majority of his tackles and kept possession for Leeds.

   These stats show that Gnonto was even worse than the Spurs side and it was a performance that may now have Farke thinking about whether to stick with the starting XI next time around.
