Liverpool are said to be keen on signing former Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes.
They will also have competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United. According to Football Insider, all three clubs sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old in action earlier this week.
The Lille attacking midfielder is out of contract in 2025 and could secure a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs when the transfer window reopens in January. It will be interesting to see which of the three clubs will come up with a proposal for the midfielder.
Liverpool could definitely use more quality and depth in their attacking unit. The 24-year-old will add goals and creativity from central areas and is versatile enough to slip into wider areas as well. He will help create scoring opportunities for his teammates, while also adding technical ability and vision.

Also, Newcastle United could use more quality in the final third as well. They were too dependent on Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak for goals and creativity. Newcastle will be hoping to qualify for the Champions League on a regular basis and will also be looking to win trophies. They need more quality and depth in the side and signing the 24-year-old on a free transfer would be a great deal for them.
Meanwhile, Spurs are using more depth in the attacking midfield department, especially following the departure of Giovani Lo Celso. They need an alternative to James Maddison in order to rotate the England international from time to time.
Gomes would be a quality signing for all three clubs and has the potential to thrive in the Premier League as well. After failing at Manchester United, the player may feel he has done his job in English football. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
