REPORT :Three things Sunderland fans want to see when the team news vs Plymouth Argyle comes out at 2pm

Sunderland host Plymouth Argyle in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

   Sunderland go into this weekend’s game in 1st place in the Championship table.

   Regis Le Bris has led his side to a perfect start to the 2024/25 season with four wins from four, with Portsmouth winning 3-1 in the last.

   Speaking to reporters after the international break on Thursday, Le Bris revealed that there are no new concerns regarding injuries.

   Supporters will be hoping that their team can get back into action and see off Plymouth Argyle, who are currently in 22nd place.

   Here are three things Sunderland fans can look out for when the team news comes out at 2pm…

   Chris Rigg retained his starting place for Sunderland

   One of Sunderland’s stars this season is Chris Rigg.

   The 17-year-old has started the last three games and has shown great signs of developing in this new style of play.

   So much so that Real Madrid have been linked with Rigg, along with Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.

   Competition in the center of the park is now fierce at Sunderland and Rigg will have to do his best to keep his place.

   But he hasn’t done anything yet to force Le Bris to change.

   Another youngster coming through Sunderland’s academy who is yet to make his mark on the first team is Tom Watson.

   Watson impressed during the international break as he scored some impressive goals and got the fans excited again.

   He was an unused substitute for the last few games.

   Sunderland fans will no doubt want to see Watson back on the bench for this game, but they will also want to see him get some minutes towards the end.

   Sunderland’s new signings in the squad

   Sunderland still have four deadline day signings to bring into the fold, although only two look set to feature against Plymouth.

   Chris Mepham and Milan Aleksic have been reported to be in contention for a place in the squad to face Plymouth.

   Sunderland fans will be particularly excited to see Aleksić in action;    he is the most expensive signing of the Kyril Louis-Dreyfus era at Sunderland.

   Expect Le Bris to remove the Serbian international from the bench later in the match.
