🚨REPORT :Richard Keys claims VAR made a big error during Crystal Palace vs Leicester City

Crystal Palace have not been at their best this season as they are still looking for their first win of the Premier League season.

   Oliver Glasner has simply failed to replicate last season’s form with two points from a possible 12 so far in the Premier League.

   Crystal Palace gave Eddie Nketiah his debut, but even he couldn’t make much of an impact on the game as Jean-Philippe Mateta conceded a late penalty to secure a point.

   Leicester City will be slightly disappointed with just one point.    In the 46th minute, they were leading 2:0 and on their way to the first three points.

   Jamie Vardy gave the home fans a goal after rounding Dean Henderson in the Crystal Palace goal.

   However, Richard Keys was not satisfied with one goal…

   Richard Keys says VAR made a huge mistake in Jean-Philippe Mateta’s goal between Crystal Palace and Leicester City

   Jean-Philippe Mateta scored his first two goals of the season yesterday to help Oliver Glasner’s side to an important point.

   However, his first goal was called into question due to the linesman calling it offside, prompting VAR to check it at a deeper level.

   VAR assessed that Mateta was standing behind the player who passed the ball.

   That didn’t sit well with Richard Keys, who was quick to voice his opinion on his Twitter account.

   Was it offside?

   Well, the linesman must have thought so too, as he initially missed the goal.

   Jean-Philippe Mateta appears to be ahead of Tyrick Mitchell when passing the ball to the net, but certain angles can often be deceiving.

   We’d hope the VAR has a better angle than what’s shown on Keys’ screen, because otherwise it’s a bit worrying as the red line appears to be well in front of Mitchell.

   The only thing that could be deceiving is the fact that you don’t see Mitchell’s entire body.

   VAR has a lot more angles available compared to the TV operators and us fans at home, so there had to be a clear angle that caused them to overturn the offside decision.

   Interestingly, pundits seem to regularly point to VAR, with Neil Mellor claiming that VAR made a mistake in the Manchester United v Liverpool game.
