REPORT :Nottingham Forest manager names which Liverpool star he specifically targeted during shock 1-0 win

Nottingham Forest pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the Premier League this season with a 1-0 away win against Liverpool.

   Arne Slot saw his perfect start as the Reds boss came to a surprising end as Callum Hudson-Odoi’s second-half goal was enough for Forest to run away with a historic win against Liverpool at Anfield.

   With Manchester City also winning on the day, Liverpool are already three points behind Pep Guardiola’s side in a season where every win is as important as the last in the Premier League.

   And Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has revealed which Liverpool player Forest wanted to land in the big win.

   Mohamed Salah in goal as the Liverpool winger did not feature against Forest

   Speaking to reporters after the game, Nuno told how Alex Moreno was tasked with taking Mohamed Salah out of the game, with the Spanish defender doing just that against the in-form Liverpool superstar.

   Asked how Forest were able to deny Liverpool’s powerful attack at Anfield, Nuno said: “Alex had a difficult task going one-on-one against Salah, but I think he did well. But when he finished, he  was really tired!”

   Given how good Salah has been for Liverpool this season, the Egyptian winger’s performance on Saturday was more than poor as the striker endured one of his worst games in recent memory.

   But with Salah facing a big game at AC Milan, the former AS Roma star knows what he needs to do if he is to redeem himself after a disappointing performance at Anfield this weekend.

   Salah will be looking to return for Liverpool against Milan

   Salah is fully aware that he was played like a violin against Forest at the weekend and the Nottingham side had their defensive tactics on top when it came to dealing with the Liverpool winger.

   But with a big game against Milan on the horizon, Salah will be itching to get back on the pitch and prove to Liverpool fans and the world just how good he still is after an electric start to the season.

   Salah is a force in the UEFA Champions League and has been huge for Liverpool in big games, and the 32-year-old will be looking to prove that at the San Siro next week against Milan.
