SHOCKING :Key Liverpool stat at the root of Arne Slot frustration in Anfield loss

One began to wonder if it was a day for Liverpool after Luis Diaz hit the post and half a dozen half chances went to waste.    While we were talking about records Liverpool could break, they ended a 55-year streak.    With Nottingham Forest away at Anfield, Callum Hudson-Odoi’s beautiful winner broke Arne Sloto’s walls.

   Arne Slot is frustrated with the ownership, which is not good

   The first goal conceded under Arne Sloto’s regime could not have been more heartbreaking.    Nottingham Forest beat the Reds 1-0 away at Anfield on Saturday.    Also, Liverpool had 70% possession, a topic of discussion in Arne Slott’s post-match YouTube interview:

   “The result frustrates us the most and we can’t be satisfied with how the game went. It was a stop-start game and we didn’t create any chances.

   “We just have to look at ourselves, we have to get better. We lost the ball too many times around the area, it wasn’t good enough. We have to get better with the ball.

   “Our decisions and execution were not good enough. In general we defended quite well, but two fast players came in and made it difficult. We took a lot of risks and in the end the goal was very good.”

   That matches what we saw at Anfield today.    Although we could see Merseyside players knocking on the door many times, they have nothing to show for it.    Slot could not express enough how not all possessions could be converted.    In other words, we are saying that it can be a lack of creativity and a lack of purpose.

   There is speculation after the game that it may be a little too early to call the Reds title contenders.    While this may just be a setback in someone’s eyes, it can also be a reduction in speed.    It would be important to acknowledge the players who talk about the improvement and that the Slot supports its system.    We heard that the head coach said that he will not change anything in tomorrow’s practice. 

   This means that the system is supported and it’s just a question of whether it will meet the higher standards.    While losing in a top four match doesn’t sound too bad, it’s rare for Liverpool to lose at Anfield in any respect.    It also doesn’t help that Manchester City have a 100% three-point record.    We’ve seen moments like this haunt Arsenal before and they could be just the things that separate the team from winning titles.
