Tottenham star shares tweet slamming club chiefs for what they did before Arsenal defeat

The Tottenham star took to social media to share a post criticizing the club’s actions ahead of their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the north London derby.

   There is no bigger game in a football club’s season than a local derby against their fiercest rivals.

   Tottenham Hotspur were given a cruel reminder of the difficulty of such a big game on Sunday when they lost 1-0 to rivals Arsenal in the north London derby.

   And now one of Tottenham’s top players has apparently taken to social media to criticize the club for the way he behaved before the game.

   Defender Cristian Romero appeared to be at fault for Arsenal’s winner as Brazilian defender Gabriel easily shrugged off Romero before scoring a header to secure the visitors the three points.

   After the match, Romero responded to the criticism he faced by sharing a post on X by Argentinian TV journalist Gaston Edulo, who criticized Tottenham for the way they managed to bring their players back from international duty.

   The post, originally written in Spanish, was translated as: “Tottenham lost again to Arsenal.

   “They could not fight to the end because they did not agree on the details.

   “It was the only club in the Premier League to come back with international players, alone and without proper logistics, after the decision of the club’s management.

   “They gave away the advantage because their players came with less rest than others: Cuti Romero played tired.”

   Five days before the game, Romero started for Argentina in their 2–1 World Cup qualifier defeat to Colombia.

   Normally national associations are responsible for arranging travel to and from their clubs for their players for all international matches, but some clubs choose to organize private trips to get their players back as soon as possible.

   However, Tottenham don’t often feel the need to do so and with Thursday being a day off for the club’s players, they decided Romero wouldn’t need it and the 26-year-old seems to suggest that this has affected his fatigue, and therefore his  appearance during the North London derby.
