🚨BREAKING NEWS : Chris Wilder picks out key difference between Sheffield United new boy and Jayden Bogle

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has admitted Alfie Gilrchist does not have the attacking qualities of Jayden Bogle, who joined Leeds United in the summer.

Bogle completed a permanent move from Sheffield United to Leeds in the summer transfer window as part of the Whites’ plans to bring in a new full-back.

The 24-year-old wasted little time in carving out a place in the starting line-up and is the first-choice right-back at Elland Road this season.

Bogle was criticized for his defensive performance in Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Burnley last weekend, but is unlikely to lose his place in the team going forward.

Wilder brought Gilchrist in from Chelsea to replace Bogle and the 20-year-old started the first five league games of the season.

Sheffield United boss admits Alfie Gilchrist is no Jayden Bogle

Wilder is a fan of the 20-year-old defender and believes his speed and defensive mind have brought something different to Sheffield United.

He also expects to develop further this season, but admitted he lacks the attacking threat Bogle has added to his squad at right-back.

“Alfie is good when supporting Brooksy or Jes and can play directly from the three,” Wilder was quoted as saying by The Star.

“He’s not Jayden Bogle, he’s not going to be an 8/10 second base, but you’ve seen his defensive qualities.

“He’s fast, he’s a good defender. He was a big signing for us and he’s going to enjoy it. He’s enjoying it right now and he’s going to get better as the team goes.”

Leeds will be hoping that Bogle can shake off the mistakes he made against Burnley and improve his game as Leeds prepare for a crucial league run before the international break in October.
