‘If I’m being honest’ :Ian Wright says £50m Tottenham player is actually worse than Anthony Elanga at Nottingham Forest

Tottenham and Nottingham Forest have had different starts to their Premier League seasons.

   Going into this campaign, it would be remiss to predict that these two sides would be at odds right now.

   Forest are currently seventh in the table and are unbeaten in their first four games of the season, while Tottenham have won just one of their opening four games and are 13th in the table.

   Ian Wright discussed Forest’s start to the season and their two wide players on the Kelly and Wrighty Show.

   Indeed, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga have made excellent starts to this campaign and Wright praised Forest’s move to sell Brennan Johnson and sign two replacements for a fraction of the price.

   In fact, Wright went so far as to say that both Elanga and Hudson-Odoi are actually better than Brennan Johnson.

   Wright shared his verdict on the Forest stars and their Tottenham opponent.

   “If you look at the deal to sell Brennan Johnson to Tottenham for £50m and then get the two of them (Elanga and Hudson-Odoi) for £21m, two players who, to be honest, and this is no disrespect to Brennan, are both better than  him in what they can produce now, Wright said.

   “They can have an opportunity, especially Hudson-Odoi, to start and show what he can do, because a few years ago you wouldn’t have been able to get him for that kind of money.”

   Nottingham Forest’s transfer masterpiece

   Nottingham Forest’s transfer business has been volatile to say the least since their relegation to the Premier League.

   But they made some amazing deals in the offensive zones.

   Elanga and Hudson-Odoi were two inspired signings at bargain prices, while Johnson was sold when his stock was at its highest.

   It turned out to be a stroke of genius and now it looks like Forest will really come alive and become a more established Premier League side challenging for a top 10 finish.

   Meanwhile, Brennan Johnson has recently come under fire for his performances for Spurs.
