🚨JUST IN :Daniel Farke makes Zinedine Zidane comparison about Leeds player after what he did vs Burnley

Daniel Farke has hit back at critics who believe Leeds United lack creativity by comparing one of his strikers to Zinedine Zidane.

   Farke’s tactics have come under the spotlight this week following Leeds’ first defeat of the season against Burnley on Saturday.

   Apart from a couple of big chances for Mateo Joseph and Wilfried Gnont, Leeds created virtually nothing throughout the game and the second half was particularly toothless.

   Like many times last season, Leeds simply couldn’t find answers to a side that defends deep, which is cause for concern as many more teams will adopt this tactic this season.

   Having failed to sign another number 10, Farke will have to find an answer to this problem himself, even if he doesn’t entirely agree with the critics’ claims.

   Farke compares Zidane to Brendan Aaronson

   In each of the last three games, Brenden Aaronson has started in a central midfield role.

   Aaronson has excelled in each, but it wouldn’t be unfair to say that his best attribute isn’t finding that killer pass, but rather his dribbling and pressing.

   Having said that, Aaronson was the only Leeds player on the pitch to open Burnley up with a through ball, creating a great chance for Gnont.

   Speaking at a press conference ahead of Cardiff City, Farke felt nobody would be talking about Leeds’ lack of creativity if Gnonto had cleaned it up, comparing the quality of his passing to Zidane’s.

   He said: “If Willy scores that goal, everyone’s talking about Brenden Aaronson, what a pass from Zinedine Zidane, he’s our new number 10. Brenden played an amazing pass but we didn’t put the ball in the box so there’s a lot of criticism.

   “I know how this business goes and what the atmosphere is like after a game when we don’t score. I’m not angry, it doesn’t change anything that there is some criticism.

   “Norwich, Gladbach, attacking football, playing opponents off the park and then if it’s a game where we don’t score, ‘oh that’s boring, put the ball forward’. I don’t change every game. We have to play with our style we didn’t  team to the second ball.”

   Farke shares Manor Solomon Leeds injury news

   A lot of Leeds’ creativity actually comes from wide positions, but with so many players defending centrally, it’s harder to find someone with the crossbar or create space for a shot.

   And Leeds could be without their most impressive wide player for the last two games, with Manor Solomon a fresh doubt with a back injury.

   Farke said: “Manor Solomon has a back problem. A few concerns but I’m pretty optimistic they’ll all be available. The biggest question mark is Solomon.”
