🚨NEWS :Nottingham Forest have perfect template to follow as Nuno weighs up big Brighton decisions

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s game plan worked to perfection last weekend as Nottingham Forest secured an important 1-0 win against Liverpool.

   The challenge for the Portuguese is to do it all again as the Reds look to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.    He certainly has some decisions to think about when it comes to team selection.

   Nuno was in the middle of the park at Anfield as he focused on snuffing out the hosts’ threat.    Will he rejoin the same for Sunday’s clash with Brighton and Hove Albion (2pm kick-off)?

   “We started with Elliot (Anderson) and Nico (Dominguez) playing wide. With the defensive tasks they had to do, with the inside work of the full-backs, it was impossible for them to hold the game,” he said of his strategy.  said Nuno.  on Merseyside “We knew we had to make substitutions. Subs came in and got through, which is good.”

   Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga made the difference from the bench, with the latter setting up his teammate for the only goal of the game.    But both will be keen to return to the starting XI on the south coast.

   Brighton have also started the campaign in good form and will present a tough challenge.    However, Ipswich Town showed they can be frustrated and Nuno will no doubt be studying how the 0-0 draw between the teams played out last weekend.

   The Seagulls had most of the possession in this stalemate, but the opposition insisted on holding them out.    Nuno needs to consider whether keeping Anderson and Dominguez in the same roles as last week and then bringing in the energy of Hudson-Odoi and Elango later is the way to go.

   Sure, he could start Hudson-Odoi and Elanga, but he would mix up his midfield.    Ryan Yates and James Ward-Prowse were tasked with providing a shield for the defense last time out.

   “The middle block was so good.    “For the most part, it was the best practice on how to defend in the middle of the field,” Yates said afterward.

   Ward-Prowse certainly impressed on his debut and seems likely to have cemented his place in the team.    It’s almost impossible for Anderson to lose a few games in a campaign either.    If Nuno decides to deploy his wings on the field, he may consider whether the two can work together as a midfield partner.    Ward-Prowse didn’t really get a real chance to show his skills at Anfield, but they could be a very useful weapon later in the season.

   Last weekend also marked Alex Moreno’s first Premier League appearance for the Reds.    The Aston Villa loanee’s inclusion in the squad meant that Ola Aina moved to the right, while Neco Williams had to settle for a brief role against his former club.

   It would be a surprise if Nuno was considering changing the back four for Sunday – not after a glorious clean sheet.    If Willy Boly is fit, the head coach may consider changing the formation and start with three at the back.    But the old argument of don’t fix what ain’t broke is certainly a strong one.
