Eddie Howe ‘rattled’ like never before – learns how to win Newcastle United power struggle

David James believes Eddie Howe will win Newcastle United’s power struggle.

   Howe’s relationship with sporting director Paul Mitchell has dominated the recent news agenda on Tyneside.    None of the major summer signings left a sour note, with fans questioning the club’s strategy for the first time since the takeover.

   Mitchell and Howe have both played down the split publicly, with one preparing for January and the other managing the team.    Former England international James, who briefly played under Howe at Bournemouth, claimed Howe looked more “upset” and “frustrated” than ever amid the off-field speculation.

   But the 54-year-old also insisted that continuing his positive start to the season would be the best way to silence the negativity – and win at St James’ Park.    He told SafestCasinoSites: “What I find worrying about the situation in Newcastle is Eddie’s behaviour. 

   “We’ve never seen him flustered and there’s no doubt he looked quite frustrated and that showed in his talks with the media. They’ve had a good start in some difficult circumstances given what’s going on at the club off the pitch. That  it’s all about results. 

   “Power struggles are not so rare in football clubs, but if you are a manager and you do business on the pitch, there will only be one winner. It will be very difficult to make changes in a successful club. 

   “A successful manager is usually the most powerful figure in a football club. Eddie can’t control what happens behind the scenes and what the press reports. The best way to make these problems disappear is to win football matches, which sounds cliché, but it’s true.”
