Nottingham Forest fans have been left stunned by the latest developments at the City Ground after new pictures emerged on social media.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is looking into different options to predict the capacity of the stadium in order to generate more revenue from ticket sales.
This included considering the possibility of a move away from the City Ground, although this option was quickly ruled out due to concerns about a backlash from fans.
But while the club continues to assess its options, what appears to be a temporary expansion has emerged in recent days.
The images show what appear to be new catering boxes set up in a corner of the stadium – completely free-standing and out of place in relation to the other stands.
The newly available options should allow the club to boost their current revenue from high-priced tickets, but many fans were left speechless when they saw them.
Nottingham Forest fans can’t believe the back row at the City Ground
There have been suggestions that the building is just the start of a more structured development on the corner, but the lack of clarification has raised further concerns.
While a patchwork solution may have provided a better alternative to a complete move from the historic City Ground, fans are questioning whether another option could be explored.
Many took to social media to react to the new images as the development was described as “appalling”, “pathetic” and “appalling”.
