Everything is going to plan for Nottingham Forest in the early stages of the 2024/25 season with eight points on the board.
Nuna Espirito Santo’s side achieved a shock result of the season with an away win against Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.
The Reds will be more than happy to sit in the top half of the table with twice as many points as Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
However, it was not to be for Forest, who enjoyed an impressive summer on and off the pitch.
An impressive start to the season has given those at Forest the feeling that Nuno is the man to take the club forward.
And Nuno seems to be impressed with what he’s been seeing at Forest away from the football on the pitch in recent months.
What Nuno Espirito Santo just said about Evangelos Marinakis
There has been plenty to cheer about at Forest this season, even before the win on Merseyside.
Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd admitted he was impressed with Forest’s attacking style in the opening game of the season.
What’s happening on the pitch is matched by what’s happening off the pitch now with Forest’s owner looking to raise the club’s status after returning to the Premier League a few years ago.
Nuno commented on the club’s off-field ambitions at Friday’s press conference ahead of Sunday’s game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
“That drives everything. He is the biggest authority in the club, so his ambition is what drives us. He wants this club to grow and become stable,” Nuno told BBC Sport.
“If [an urban area] has 50,000, great. As long as it’s here. That’s what drives us. That goes from the owner to everyone at the range. Everyone has to participate and realize they’re part of something that wants to grow. We need everyone on board.”
Nottingham Forest are looking to return to the top
One of the off-pitch developments was at the City Ground with Marinakis looking to increase capacity.
Evangelos Marinakis is showing his true support at Forest as he looks to return the club to the top of the table.
And that clearly affects the pitch with the current results.
However, it must be remembered that the season is still early and the result could quickly change the attitude at Forest.
But for now, everyone in the club seems to be singing along.
